Using my desktop licence with the Android app | Mon Jun 10, 2013 03:26 AM | | |

I have been using Myibidder for many years and have found it to be an exceptional solution to the eBay experience. I never bid any other way. However, recently my internet connection was down and I was concerned that I could not find a way of adding an item to my Myibidder snipe list. I could connect to the internet with my phone, but there is no web based application I could log on to set my snipes.
My next option was to download an app for my Android phone. But it appears that I am unable to use my existing account for the Android app and that I must purchase a new subscription to be able to use Myibidder on the phone.
Is that ridiculous situation correct?
Will I then have difficulty registering my eBsy details on two separate Myibidder accounts?
Is there any plan to provide a web access to my Myibidder account so that I can log on from any address and setup a snipe?
Thanks

First of all, thank you. The web access that I sought was there all the time and is brilliant. That will in fact do. I don't need the Android app if I can get access through the web because I can go online from the phone and conduct my business through the web page.
I do have the latest software installed and have no difficulty gaining access to the web from my phone: a new Wildfire S. So as I have said i don't need an app now that I have learned that there is a direct web access to my stuff.
But I am not an idiot. The problem I encountered was, and still is, that when I go to the Myibidder home page and click on the Android link, I am offered a download of Myibidder Sniper for eBay Pro, at a cost of $A8.99. While this is not an exorbitant amount, it is close to the amount I paid for the desktop version and appeared to me to be duplicating my membership. With the additional concern that I may not be able to use two "memberships" with the same eBay details.
When I go to the Google Play site directly from my phone, I am offered the same version and it comes with a subscription charge of $A8.99.
This is not something associated with my ISP or any other of the links or licenses between me an the download site. It is the information displayed to me on the Google Play web site here:- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myibidder.aclient1.pro
Finally, the reference to my desktop license referred to in the topic title is not some Windows license nor any other unrelated license, it is the license to use Myibidder (my subscription or what it may be called) which I originally purchased from you. The term desktop license becomes relevant if a second paid license (or subscription) is required to access the site from my phone. Then I would have a desktop license and a phone license.
Anyway, thank you again. I am pleased to learn that should the occasion arise again, that I can access my information and place a snipe through your Home page

You are not buying a membership, there is no such thing at Myibidder.
You are paying for the software itself. Android devices can't run Windows applications so that's why you need to purchase another application which is compatible with Android.
The price you see is for the app, not for the membership (i.e. you can use the same app for multiple eBay accounts if you have many).
Of course, there is always a free Web-based interface to make it accessible from any device with Internet access and modern browser.
It will always stay free and there are no plans to change it.
Also, as you probably noticed, the data is synced across all your apps (Windows, Android, iOS, etc) and Web version so anything you set in your Windows app will appear in the Web-based version as well -- so you can continue no matter where you started.
