If you are ready to pay up to, let's say, $100, then you set $100 as your maximum. What's the minimum for?
Also, eBay does not allow placing bids equalling or higher than Buy It Now price. If you are ready to pay $333 for item which is being sold for $320, then you should use BIN price and buy it without waiting.
If you are not ready to pay $320 and your maximum is lower, please use your actual absolute maximum when setting up the snipe.
You will usually win at lower than your maximum, but when price goes higher your maximum, the sniper will not bid.
So in your case, if nobody bid higher, you will win it at $280 even if you put $300 as your maximum.
