I set up a few snipes on my mothers machine using one of my ebay ids.
As i was around when one was about to finish i had a quick look and the snipe was not visible in the listing so when i clicked the snipe it icon to log in the snipe was there.
Any idea what could cause this.
I thought when one failed it was because maybe i had logged into the ebay account on my machine but that definitely did not happen the last time.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The snipe is visible on eBay page if you logged in to your Myibay account only (in another tab, or using "Snipe it" button).
After you close the browser, or logout from Myibay, then your current snipe will not be visible. That does not mean your snipe is not active, that just means that you are logged out and the Firefox add-on could not retrieve the information for you to display.
Your snipe will be executed anyway.

Please let me know your eBay user id so I can check your account and tell you exactly what happened.

I don't see any listing on your account which was ended on 21st.
The oldest one was ended on 26th.
I see another listing which was ended on 27th (Item 180590534175) which you lost.
If you check the "My Status" field, you will see the following reason on why you lost it:
"Bidding has ended on this item"
It appears that the seller ended the listing earlier. You can not bid (and snipe) ended listings.

No, eBay does not snipe. You have to put your e-mail into your Myibay profile.
Login using http://www.myibay.com/ , click Profile, put your e-mail and click "Update" button to save your changes.
