I am really pissed!

I have changed my ebay id and now snipes will not work. for some 'strange' reason I cannot change it on my web based profile panel can someone help please.

Of course, your snipes will not work if you changed your eBay user id, but did not enter this information into myibay.
You have to login with your new eBay user id and put your snipes in order to work.

If you have too many snipes and you want me to transfer it from one eBay user id to another one, please let me know.
