Snipe didn't go off Wed Dec 03, 2008 11:41 PM Quote

I place a snipe for item=350131792525 and it didn't seem to go off. It was 10 pounds more than the previous bidder and the seller ships to the US, so I don't know why my bid didn't go off.

I don't see any items in your account.
Please do not delete items in the future so I can investigate and let you know what exactly happened.

I checked some recent snipes and see that it was a network issue on eBay's side (a few snipes from different locatios could not connect to eBay servers after re-trying several times).
I suspect that your snipe could be one of those.

Although, it happens very rare, but unfortunately it happens.
I double-checked the connection now and everything is performing as required so it was definitely a temporary network issue.

I'm sorry it happened with your item and I really hope that you will find the same item again.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply,
thats not good that ebay was having network issues, but at least this happens very rarely and it wasn't your network that was having issues. Thanks for the hope, I hope i find that item again too.

Oh, I just deleted the auction too when it didn't go off, then I read this post. I used 130274190396 as a test to see how myibay worked. I had put a higher bid than the winner, but nothing happened... :(

I read something about ebay changing the handling for bidding on items when you're living in countries that the seller hadn't specified shipping to (I'm in Sweden), but I'm unsure of if that only was ebay.de, or even if it is like that?

It was not a country location issue in your case. It seems like your snipe was never activated or activated too late.
Please check this FAQ section for detailed step-by-step instructions:
http://www.myibay.com/login/faq/4/#q1
And take a note of this requirement as well:

Many thanks, it was indeed under three minutes before the ending I activated the snipe (faq #4).
